A warehouse does not stop because the fibre stopped.
Industrial sites are where land is cheap, which is to say where the network is poor. They have halls with no mobile coverage, analogue handsets at the end of a run, and standing instructions that rest on being able to reach somebody immediately. Konvoice is built for that case.
You keep your numbers, at no porting cost.
What you already know
Three situations, before we talk telephony.
If none of the three rings a bell, this page is not for you, and we would rather you found that out now.
The digger and the fibre
One badly placed trench, and the whole site loses its phone system: the loading bay no longer calls reception, and reception no longer calls maintenance.
A six-thousand-square-metre hall with no signal
Mobiles do not reach between the racks, coverage stops thirty metres from the offices, and the site’s DECT handsets date from the old PBX.
The handsets you cannot replace
An explosion-proof telephone, a loading-bay intercom, a zone siren: expensive analogue equipment that has to survive the change of phone system.
What changes on site
The media stays on site. The cloud only does the administration.
That is the fundamental difference between Konvoice and a hundred-per-cent cloud phone system: a call between bay 12 and reception never leaves the building, even when everything is working.
- Local switching — the call from extension 214 to extension 201 travels ten metres, not six hundred kilometres.
- Analogue handsets kept — through an adapter, with their number and their place in the plan.
- DECT coverage across the site — multi-cell bases, handover between cells, the same numbers as the fixed handsets.
- Zone paging — an announcement to a group of handsets or to an amplifier, for what a whole hall has to hear.
What changes for operations
A record for the things that need one.
On a regulated site, on a site with out-of-hours cover, on a site where a standing instruction says “notify immediately”, the call log is not a convenience: it is what you produce.
- Tamper-evident audit log — every call, every escalation, every recording playback, chained together.
- Cascading on-call — the first, the second, the contractor, with the delays you set and each one time-stamped.
- Roles aligned on your directory — single sign-on, accounts created and removed automatically.
- Patches applied out of hours — Edge included, with automatic rollback.
Konvoice Edge
This is where the Edge stops being an argument.
On an industrial site the question is not whether the link goes down but how many times this year. A Konvoice Edge in the plant room makes that question irrelevant to the telephony.
- Every internal call on the site carries on, without exception.
- The voice menu, the queues and the groups are served locally.
- Voicemail records on site and syncs back in order.
- External calls take the backup line: local SIP, ISDN, or a GSM gateway.
Questions we get asked in this trade
Our handsets in the ATEX zone are analogue. What happens to them?
Can we run entirely without internet?
How does the switchover work on a site running three shifts?
The other industries
The same foundation, different constraints.
See Konvoice on the phone system you have today.
Thirty minutes, your call plan, your network constraints. We cut the link live to show you what keeps running.
No commitment. No card number asked for.
